So…citrus season is in full effect! Which means there is a lot of this going on at my house:
Oh, yeah! Nothing like a good citrus haul! Gotta get in those grapefruits and oranges this time of year!
I mean, it is pretttty awesome that citrus season shows up during the time of year when people need these fruits the most! Did you know that citrus fruits are super-amazing at breaking up mucus in the body? And of course, you are probably all aware of the massive quantities of vitamin C that are found in these delectable treats! On top of all that, did you know that both grapefruits AND oranges also contain the following?
- Omega 3 fatty acids
- Vitamin B1, 2, 3, 5 and 6
- Vitamin E
- Minerals – calcium, cooper, iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, selenium, phosphorus and potassium!
- Vitamin A (grapefruits only)
Yup! It is all true!
So how can you get more of these babies into your diet?
